Over the last 3 months, chukbuk has gained a loyal band of users. We worked hard to maintain our user friendly experience. Messages took less than a minute to deliver and many of you were sending a lot of messages everyday.
You know that each sms is a cost to us. We started the services in a beta version hoping to pull in advertisers. Unfortunately, that is taking longer than expected.
We have tried many stop-gap arrangements - we stopped new registrations so that our existing members can enjoy the same services that they had got used to. We have pitched to some advertisers but no avail.
In the last 3 months, most of our tiny savings have been spent in developing and running chukbuk. Now we cannot take the financial burden any longer (each working day is some 5000 rupees of cost).
So we are now suspending operations until we get advertisers to support us. How long will it take is anybody's guess but we are hopeful.
What it means to you?
Registered users will not be able to send free sms's anymore. People who are waiting for activation will have to wait much longer to avail of our free services.
We will send you an email intimation once we resume operations. Till then, do miss us - for the death of chukbuk is causing us great pain and you can reduce it by sending in your comforting words :(
